This research strives to offer valuable insights into business intelligence and analytics utilization. Besides, its expansion encompasses essential success factors for business intelligence and strategic management in the hospitality industry. The study's sample comprises 387 hotel managers from the Jordanian hospitality industry. Data collected to support the research goal was examined using multiple regression analysis through SPSS, with the assistance of PROCESS Macro v3.5. The results of this study reveal that business intelligence and analytics can serve as a bridge to connect crucial success factors for business intelligence and strategic management. These findings have implications for existing literature and stakeholders. Hotels that have integrated business intelligence and analytics acknowledge the advantages of enhancing their strategic management capabilities and decision-making processes.

Deteriorating inventory models are used as decision support tools for managers primarily, although not exclusively, in the retail trade. The mathematical modeling of deteriorating items allows managers to analyze their inventory management systems to identify areas that can be improved and to measure the corresponding potential benefits. This study develops an enhanced deteriorating inventory model for optimizing the inventory control strategy of companies operating in sectors with deteriorating products. In contrast with previous studies, our model holistically accounts for the overall financial effect of a company’s policies on product price discounting and on inventory shortages while considering the time value of money (TVM). We aim to find the optimal replenishment strategy and the optimal price reductions that maximize the discounted profit function of this analytical model over a fixed planning horizon. To this end, we use an economic order quantity model to study the effects of the TVM and inflation. The model accounts for pre- and post-deterioration discounts on the selling price for non-instantaneous deteriorating products with the demand rate being a function of time, price-discounts and stock-keeping units. Shortages are allowed and partially backordered, depending on the waiting time until the next replenishment. Additionally, we consider the effect of discounts on the selling price when items have either an instant deterioration or a fixed lifetime. We propose five implementable solutions for obtaining the optimal values, and examine their performance. We present some numerical examples to illustrate the applicability of the models, and carry out a sensitivity analysis. The study reveals that accounting for TVM and inventory shortages is complex and time-consuming; nevertheless, we find that accounting for TVM and shortages can be valuable in terms of increasing the yields of companies. Finally, we provide some important managerial implications to support decision-making processes.

This study aims to investigate the impact of educational background on perceived opportunities, perceived capacities, and entrepreneurial intention among Vietnamese students. By collecting data from 617 students at universities, colleges and institutes in Vietnam, the study employs some quantitative approaches including descriptive statistics, explorative factor anal-ysis (EFA), correlation coefficient analysis, ANOVA tests and multiple linear regression to analyze the relationship between educational background, perceived opportunities perceived capacities and entrepreneurial intention. In addition, Chi-square and Cramer’s V tests are implemented to show the difference of educational background in Vietnamese students’ entrepreneurial intention. The research results show that there was a negative relationship between field of studies and perceived opportunities, perceived capacities, and entrepreneurial intention while educational level had positive effects on perceived opportunities, perceived capacities and entrepreneurial intention. Moreover, Chi-square and Cramer’s V tests report that there was a strong evidence of educational level difference in entrepreneurial intention but no difference of field of study in entrepreneurial intention.

Supply chain management is an activity that effectively integrates suppliers, companies, retailers where goods are produced and distributed at the right quality, location, and time with minimum cost levels to provide the highest quality services for consumers. Supply chain agility, supply chain adaptability, supply chain alignment, which is known as the Triple-A strategy, are elements to form supply chain performance. In this study, we tried to apply it to SMEs in developing countries, such as Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to show whether it is true that the supply chain cannot be applied to SMEs, while for a disruption as it is today, competition is getting tougher not only among SMEs but also against large companies, and SMEs need to develop several strategies that were previously unimaginable. This study uses quantitative techniques to determine the effect of supply chain agility, supply chain adaptability, supply chain alignment on supply chain performance either partially or simultaneously. The results showed that all hypotheses were accepted. This shows that supply chain management can be a strategy to create better SMEs performance and can even be used to achieve competitive advantage.

This research investigates the mediating effect of Innovative Behavior on the relationship between Emotional Intelligence, Intellectual Intelligence, and supply chain performance. Data were collected from 198 employees of water supply companies across five major cities in Central Java, using purposive sampling and analyzed through structural equation modeling. The findings indicate that both Emotional Intelligence and Intellectual Intelligence positively and significantly impact supply chain performance. Additionally, Innovative Behavior not only positively influences supply chain performance but also mediates the relationship between Emotional and Intellectual Intelligence with supply chain performance. The study suggests that enhancing Emotional and Intellectual Intelligence through Innovative Behavior can significantly improve supply chain performance in water supply companies. Organizations are recommended to incorporate Emotional Intelligence into selection and training programs, develop initiatives to boost Emotional and Intellectual Intelligence through training in areas such as emotional management, interpersonal communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity, and create a supportive work environment that encourages innovative behavior. Implementing these strategies can lead to more efficient operations, better resource management, and increased customer satisfaction, thereby enhancing overall supply chain performance.

When it comes to engineering, high performance is always a desired goal. In this context, regarding stiffened plates, the search for better geometric configurations able to minimize the out-of-plane displacements become interesting. So, this study aimed to analyze several stiffened plates defined by the Constructal Design Method (CDM) and solved through the Finite Element Method (FEM) using the ANSYS® software. After that, these plates are compared among each other through the Exhaustive Search (ES) technique. To do so, a non-stiffened rectangular plate was adopted as reference. Then, a portion of its steel volume was converted into stiffeners through the ϕ parameter, which represents the ratio between the volume of the stiffeners and the total volume of the reference plate. Taking into consideration the value of ϕ = 0.3, 75 different stiffened plates arrangements were proposed: 25 with rectangular stiffeners oriented at 0°; 25 with rectangular stiffeners oriented at 45° and 25 with trapezoidal stiffeners oriented at 0°. Maintaining the total volume of material constant, it was investigated the geometry influence on the maximum deflection of these stiffened plates. The results have shown trapezoidal stiffeners oriented at 0° are more effective to reduce the maximum deflections than rectangular stiffeners also oriented at 0°. It was also observed that rectangular stiffeners oriented at 45° presented the smallest maximum deflections for the majority of the analyzed cases, when compared to the trapezoidal and rectangular stiffeners oriented at 0°.

Institutional potential plays a key role in creating business opportunities. However, past studies did not emphasize on the consistency and the interaction between institutional and entrepreneurial potential-shaping factors. This research aimed to explore the role of these two aspects in spotting market gaps and encouraging competitiveness. Mixed methods were used, with basic concepts focusing on new institutional economic theory. The results showed that standardization, commercialization, technology, productivity, invention, social capital, and human capital strengthened institutional potential and social entrepreneurship. This created more ventures and encouraged competition. However, there is a need to eliminate institutional barriers to improve the efficiency and productivity of the socio-cultural-economic systems.

This study analyzes the impact of social network marketing on student purchase intention and how social network marketing also affects student engagement (as moderate variable). Unit analysis of this study includes private university students in Jakarta, Indonesia. The research method used in this study is verification approach with structural equation modelling. Data collection is accomplished through questionnaires distributed among 400 students. The results of this study show that social network marketing had significant impact on student engagement, student engagement had significant impact on consumer purchase intention, social network marketing had significant impact on student purchase intention, and there was a significant relationship between social network marketing and student purchase intention through student engagement.

The study aimed to explore The Role of Big Data in Improving the Balanced Scorecard in Jordanian Commercial Banks. The descriptive approach was employed, and the quantitative method was adopted to achieve the study’s objectives and test its hypotheses. A questionnaire tool was developed, consisting of four sections for big data and four sections for the balanced scorecard, comprising a total of 48 items. The validity and reliability of the tool were verified. The questionnaire was allocated to a sample of 400 employees of the study community which is the Jordanian commercial banks. The study's findings revealed that big data has a statistically significant impact on enhancing the balanced scorecard in Jordanian commercial banks. Dimensions of big data, such as "variety" and "veracity," had a positive and direct effect on improving all aspects of the balanced scorecard, including financial performance, customer service, learning, and growth. On the other hand, the impact of "volume" and "velocity" was limited or statistically insignificant in some aspects. According to multiple regression analyses, big data contributes to explaining 82% of the improvements observed in the balanced scorecard, highlighting the importance of investing in big data to enhance operational and financial performance.

Bonded joints have important benefits over conventional joining techniques such as rivets, welding, bolts and nuts in structural applications, particularly for components prepared of composite or polymeric materials. Due to the involvement of many geometric, material and construction variables, and the complex fracture and mechanical modes offered in the bonded joints, a proper consideration of fracture behavior is required to fully achieve their benefits. The fractures in bonded joints are mainly of three types; interlaminar (delamination), adhesive (interfacial) and cohesive crack. For a particular defect, crack propagation may occur in the tensile (mode I), the shear (mode II), and the tear (mode III) and their combinations (mixed mode). This study deals with topics such as theories of bonded composite joints and repairs, finite element analysis and fracture-based analysis and tests of mixed-mode cohesive, interfacial and interlaminar fracture mechanics. By employing geometrical factors extracted from finite element analysis and experimental results obtained from a modified Arcan test fixture, the mixed-mode cohesive, interfacial, and interlaminar fracture toughness are determined and fracture surfaces obtained are discussed.
