This research aims to examine the effects of two viral marketing attributes; namely viral advertising and E-WOM on customer purchase intention. In particular, the authors contemplate the prima facie nature of the relationship by examining brand image and age as contingent boundary conditions (moderator role). The population of the study consists of graduate students in a private Cypriot university. A sample size of 177 participants is recruited using a convenience sampling technique. Multiple linear regression and analysis of variance are the statistical analyses employed to test the developed hypotheses. The findings reveal that viral marketing influenced on customer purchase intention magnified under the moderating role of brand image but age did not affect the relationship. Interestingly, viral advertising had a greater effect on customer purchase intention than E-WOM. Finally, discussions of this research finding in light of academic knowledge are put forward before suggesting future research directions.

Policy-makers generally consider entrepreneurship to be instrumental for economic growth and technological progress. The entrepreneurship process is shaped by the presence of entre-preneurship environment. Since entrepreneurship self-efficacy perceptions are also vital to new venture creation and its performance, entrepreneurship self-efficacy literature has gener-ated interesting insights, the research on impact of environment on entrepreneurship self-efficacy is still less evident. This study tests the influence of some environmental cognitive support elements on the entrepreneurship self-efficacy. A cross-sectional research design in Vietnamese students with quantitative questionnaire approach was conducted. The sample consists of 350 students in 6 business and economics universities in Hanoi. The result of the multiple regression analysis reveals that environments’ support-factors including perceived financial and non-financial supports, and social supports are significantly related to perceived entrepreneurship self-efficacy of students. The study findings highlight some implications for government to reinforce policies encouraging entrepreneurship in university students.

This article is devoted to the problems of forming analytical support for the management of economic activities of industrial enterprises under emergency situations. It is established that the current ap-proaches of the formation of economic analysis in economic activities do not allow to fully assess the impact of emergencies on the financial conditions of the enterprises. Therefore, a taxonomic analysis technique is applied, which allows to represent the level of business development mathe-matically and to identify the most influential factors, including the consequences of emergencies. Methodological provisions for the use of taxonomic analysis are also developed, which consist of successive stages of application of analytical procedures for evaluating the development of the enterprise. This includes a comprehensive assessment of the level of development of the enterprise in the context of emergency situations by calculating an integrated taxonomic indicator; assessment of the structure and dynamics of the integrated emergency indicators and the assessment of the consequences of the emergency. The methodology is applied and tested on the example of activity of PAP “Novokramatorsky Automobile-Building Plant”. Overall comprehensive assessment of the level of development of the enterprise allows us to identify advantages, disadvantages and “bottlenecks” in the activity of the enterprise. It also identifies and mobilizes internal economic reserves, optimize the financial and economic activity of the enterprise as a whole, as well as timely diagnose the presence and depth of the crisis. The methodology can be applied at the enterprises of different branches of national economics with different sizes.

Railway transportation (RT) plays a crucial role and it is an inseparable part of one country’s main traffic network. However, due to the advantages of aviation industry and other modes of transportation, the share of RT of total traffic volume gradually decreases and RT enterprises are facing various difficulties. Customer satisfaction is one of the essential factors for the survival of any business organization. In order to accordingly offer products and services, RT companies must understand their customers and find out to what extent the consumer is sat-isfied with their offered services and products. The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of each factor on the passengers’ satisfaction and freight owners for RT service in Vietnam’s context. The study utilizes 7Ps marketing mix (Product, Price, Place, Promotion, People, Process and Physical evidence) to analyze the customer satisfaction level. The collected data are analyzed through the multiple regression method by the use of SPSS software to understand the relationship of marketing mix elements and consumers’ satisfaction. The study finding helps us guide the RT operators on their marketing strategy formulation. Customers will benefit through enhanced knowledge regarding both core and augmented products associated with RT services. It is also expected that this work can be used as a reference material for RT managers to enhance competitiveness.

The purpose of this study is to empirically examine the effects of compassion experienced by small-to-medium enterprise (SME) employees on affective commitment through authenticity and positive emotion. This study was conducted with 200 employees working at SMEs located in South Korea. The results show that the relationships between compassion and authenticity, between authenticity and positive emotion, between positive emotion and affective commit-ment, and between compassion and affective commitment were significant. In addition, the relationship between compassion and affective commitment was significantly double-mediated by authenticity and positive emotion. The results provide a meaningful implication that SME employees would build authenticity and positive emotions by experiencing compassion and that those who build authenticity and positive emotions would enhance their affective commitment.

This study examines the direct influence of Islamic job satisfaction and organizational commitment on the intention to leave, and the direct influence of Islamic job satisfaction on or-ganizational commitment. It also investigates the mediation of organizational commitment in the relationship between Islamic job satisfaction and intention to leave. The study examines the moderating impact of the Islamic work ethic on the influence of Islamic job satisfaction and organizational commitment on intention to leave. This study is explanatory research and used Smart Partial Least Square (SmartPLS) Version 3.2.6. The sample for the study included 164 employees in Islamic banks in North Maluku Province, Indonesia. The results of the empirical research indicate that Islamic job satisfaction had a direct positive and significant influ-ence on organizational commitment. Islamic job satisfaction has a direct negative and significant influence on intention to leave. Organizational commitment has a direct negative and significant influence on intention to leave. Organizational commitment also mediates the re-lationship between Islamic job satisfaction and intention to leave. Furthermore, these research results reveal that the Islamic work ethic cannot moderate the effect of Islamic job satisfaction on the level of intention to leave. Conversely, the Islamic work ethic may moderate the influence of organizational commitment on intention to leave. Implications, limitations and future research are discussed.

This paper uses econometrics models to estimate factors affecting the offshore fishing households’ incomes in the Southern Central Coast of Vietnam. We estimate two basic models: one with total income as the dependent variable and the other with per capita income as the dependent variable. Since heteroscedasticity is in present, the study employs Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) estimations with Robust Standard Errors (OLSR). The models are further divided into a model with intercept dummies and the one with slope dummies. The estimation results for the intercept dummies indicate that fishing technology, number of days per trip, type of fishery, the residential characteristics, household size, number of dependents, captains' experience, fishing ground, consumer market, and the role of officers for fishing stimulation are the main factors having significant impacts on fishing household’s income. Surprisingly, ship capacity, income diversification, career passion, householder’s educational background, and consumer market have no significant impact on fishing household’s income. The results for the intercept and slope dummies, both, indicate that the Southern areas enjoy more benefits than the Northern areas in terms of income and utilizing the stimulation policies. The empirical results allow us to suggest some policy recommendations for central and provincial government aiming at improving offshore fishing household’s income in the Southern Central Coast of Vietnam.

This paper measures the effect of disclosure quality of integrated business reports on the predictive power of accounting information and firms’ value in the Egyptian Stock Market. In order to achieve the research objectives, the research relies on content analysis approach in examining the annual reports of the companies listed in the Egyptian Stock Exchange from 2015 to 2018. The study depends on measuring the independent variable i.e. disclosure quality of the integrated business reports on building up a disclosure index consisting of 45 items in 8 groups equally weighted, whereas; dependent variables which represents the predictive power of accounting information measured by adopting three different methodologies; namely Accounting Conservatism, Share Prices, and Discretionary Accruals. Concerning to firm value, the study uses Tobin’s Q model to measure the relationship between the quality disclosure of the integrated business reports and the firm value. The results indicate that the quality disclosure of integrated business report leads to increase accounting conservatism and share prices, whereas the statistics analysis reports a negative effect towards discretionary accruals indicating that the quality disclosure of integrated business report leads to decrease in discretionary accruals.

The purpose of this study is to analyse the effects of (1) quintuple helix on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) performance; (2) ability of SMEs on SMEs performance; (3) quintuple helix on ability of SMEs; (4) innovation on SMEs performance and (5) innovation on ability of SMEs. The analysis uses quantitative analysis, as a descriptive analysis as well as inferential statistics. Respondents are taken from the population of the craft subsector of creative industries, governments, academicians, media-based and culture-based public, in addition to natural environments of society in creative industrial cluster cities in Spain (50 samples) and Indonesia (50 samples). The results of the study identify the significant influence of: (1) quintuple helix on SMEs performance; (2) ability on SMEs performance; and (5) innovation on ability of SMEs. On the other hand, they show the non-significant influence of (3) quintuple helix on ability of SMEs and (4) innovation on SMEs performance in craft cluster creative industry in Indonesia. Regarding the craft creative industry in Spain, the results show the significant influence of (2) ability of SMEs on SMEs performance, (3) quintuple helix on ability of SMEs; (4) innovation on SMEs performance and (5) innovation on ability of SMEs, but the non-significant influence of (1) quintuple helix on SMEs performance. The comparative study results show that the relationship of (2) ability of SMEs on SMEs performance, (5) innovation on ability of SMEs, both in Indonesia and Spain, were significant. On the other hand, there are some significant relationship of (3) quintuple helix on ability of SMEs and (4) innovation on SMEs performance in Spain but such relationships do not exist in Indonesia. Moreover, while the effect of (1) quintuple helix on SMEs performance is significant in Indonesia, it is not significant in Spain. Furthermore, the mediation function shows the inverted result on indirect relationship of quintuple helix on SMEs performance through ability of SMEs in Indonesia, but full mediation in Spain, whereas the effect of innovation on SMEs performance through ability of SMEs is observed as full mediation in Indonesia, but partial mediation in Spain.

This research was conducted to investigate the factors affecting the company’s capital expenditure. Data were collected from the firms listed on Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE) over the period of nine years from 2010 to 2018, including the sample of 192 non-financial listed companies. Three statistical approaches were employed to address econometrics issues and to improve the accuracy of the regression coefficients: Random Effects Model (REM), Fixed Effects Model (FEM) and Generalized Method of Moments (GMM). The results show that free cash flows and firm size influenced positively on capital expenditure. By contrast, other factors such as dividend, interest expenses, depreciation and working capital had negative effects on capital expenditure. Based on the research results, some key intuitive recommendations were proposed for managers and investors in order to help them in making decisions.
