Not only has the COVID-19 outbreak brought about public safety challenges, but there has also been a major disruption in the business world that impacts one and all from small to large businesses. During This pandemic, supply chains (SCs) have witnessed disruptions, and this has inspired the interest of this paper. Therefore, the objective of the paper is to address two research questions pertaining to exploring the emerging SC aspects in the age of COVID-19 and future directions of SCs. To achieve this objective, a methodology is developed entailing three steps as follows. First, data is collected and included documents are identified through PRISMA strategy. Second, document analytics is performed using the web-interface of bibliometrix package in R software,the shiny app. Third, the research questions are addressed accordingly. The results showed that the most prominent terms related to SCs include supply chain disruptions, supply chain management,supply chain resilience, viability, and flexibility. Consequently, the first research question is approached in which the aspects of SC disruptions, resilient SC, viable SC,Sustainable SC, and SC management, are addressed. With more focus on building resilient SC in the short-term to recover from disruptions, viable SC can be created in the long-term perspective, which eventually build sustainable SC accordingly. Subsequently, considering these aspects enable successful SC management. Additionally, the future directions are explored including the transformation from globalization to regionalization perspective, focus on digitalization, need for holding more inventory, managing SCs for high resilience, more dependence on operations research and business analytics, and reconsideration of food SCs. This paper contributes to the body of knowledge by providing insightful research agenda to scholars and practitioners concerned in exploring more of the influences of the current pandemic on SCs.

The nature and complexity of today’s supply chains have predisposed them to various risks, which are described under different terms, including disturbances, uncertainties and riots. Under these conditions, organizations are required to manage their supply chain in a way that is responsive to changes. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationships between the strategies of coping with disturbances in supply chain networks. This is an applied research and using the research literature, 41 factors are selected for the solutions of coping with risk in supply chain networks. Then, these factors are entered in a questionnaire and presented for some supply chain experts. After that, Interpretative Structural Modeling (ISM) and Fuzzy MICMAC are implemented to rate the solutions of coping with risk in supply chain networks. The results show that the establishment of a supply chain continuity system at the seventh level is the basis of agility in the supply chain. The proper and efficient design of processes in the supply chain network will lead to proper operation in management solutions and appropriate synchronization in the supply chain networks. Using appropriate management solutions in synchronization leads to the integration and proper sharing of information within a supply chain network and between various supply chains and government. Additionally, using the synchrony and integration of supply chain networks, it is possible to design the proper supply chain network and appropriate communication between employees and network elements.

The complexity and vulnerability of supply chains in today's globalized economy have heightened the significance of understanding and managing disruptions. Supply chain disruptions, ranging from natural disasters to pandemics, can lead to substantial delays, increased costs, and reduced quality, thereby impacting the operational performance and stability of businesses. Considering the theoretical sophistication and substantial relevance of the field, this research seeks to conduct an extensive bibliometric analysis of supply chain disruption. The goal is to offer a thorough summary of recent advancements and ongoing progress in this specific area. Additionally, it aims to pinpoint emerging research patterns that can guide future studies. We performed a bibliometric review of the structure and global trends of disruptions among supply chains, from 1996 to 2024 using techniques such as analysis of (1) the dataset, (2) sources, (3) authors, (4) countries and institutions, (5) documents, and (6) keywords. A total of 1356 bibliographic records from Web of Science databases were analyzed to generate the study’s research data through Scientometrics networks. The paper concludes by discussing the strengths and limitations of the study and suggesting potential avenues for future research, aiming to guide and inform future studies in this critical area of supply chain management. The findings of this study will enhance understanding of the prevailing patterns in this topic, thus laying the groundwork for future research initiatives in this field.
