Spodopetra Frugiperda is a highly polyphagous migratory lepidopteran pest species. It causes infestation in crops leading to severe crop losses. Being a new invasive parasite, its susceptibility to insecticides needs to be explored and therefore, there is an urgent need to develop the potent insecticides for the effective control of this insect pest. This is the first report on toxic effects produced by the prepared chalcone and hydrazone analogs, followed by structure relationships. Five compounds of chalcone and hydrazone derivatives have been synthesized in pure state as reported procedures, and their toxicity as potential insecticidal agent against Spodopetra Frugiperda was screened. Their characterizations by using spectroscopic analyses were performed. The toxicity data exhibited that compound 5 is more toxic about 2-fold than other synthesized compounds, the other screened compounds showed weak to strong toxicological activity against Spodopetra Frugiperda (lepidoptera: Noctuidae).

The aim of this study is to identify the influence of food attributes, perceived value, consumer trust and nutritional health behavior that contribute to consumer repurchase intention of foods with health claims. Descriptive Statistics was used to analyze the demographic profile of the 313 sample of respondents. Path analysis was conducted for analyzing the causal and effect relationship between variables expressed by means of a path coefficient. The results showed that there were only indirect effects between food attributes and Intention to repurchase. However, perceived value was shown to have both positive direct and indirect effects on intention to repurchase, which were significantly mediated by nutritional health behavior and consumer trust. Research results suggest food managers develop the value of food products and monitor the customer trust and the changes of market on the food with health claims for the competition in a current environment.

There is no rationalization for a certainty that harder wheels or rails will result in an increase in wear of the opposite side of the wheel/rail interface. This research investigated how the wear of wheel material changes when the hardness of the opposing pair is varied. Three Rail/wheel material matches; normalized UIC50 kg/m and S1002 wheel profile (Rail/wheel material 1), normalized UIC60 kg/m and whole heat treated S1002 wheel profile (Rail/wheel material 2) and rim heat treated UIC60 kg/m and whole heat treated S1002 wheel profile (Rail/wheel material 3) has been investigated using multi-body simulation software (SIMPACK) and MATLAB programming. For validation, as an experimental advantage, the wear depths measured on the wheel tread wear of the end vehicle of LRT for mileage of 50,000 km are compared to the results of numerical simulation performed. As a result, the estimated total tread wear amount after a mileage of 50,000 km is 4% larger than the experimental one. That is indeed a very good result considering that either component of the wheel wear prediction model used is neither adjustment nor calibration. From the three rail/wheel matches, Rail/wheel material 3 found to be the better material match that could resist wear significantly considering material hardness as important criteria for comparison. The study could remark that, despite the fact both wheel and rail material hardness could affect the wear performance in respected positive ways, most significant improvements are attained by improving the rail material hardness ahead of wheel material.

Although the critical success factors might be different between the pre and post-adoption stages of mobile wallets, there have been few studies conducted to examine those factors for the post-adoption stage when compared to the number of studies conducted to examine those factors for the pre-adoption stage. Yet, the post-adoption stage of mobile wallets is crucial to the success and sustainability of the mobile wallets’ ecosystem. Thus, this study developed and examined a model by integrating relevant factors into the Technology Acceptance Model 2 (TAM2). Data were collected from 578 mobile wallet users in Jordan using an electronic questionnaire. A structural equation modelling approach was utilized to analyze the data. The results revealed that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use have statistically significant positive direct effects on the intention to continuous use of mobile wallets, while subjective norm does not. In addition to that, results indicated that trust, security, and ubiquity have statistically significant positive direct effects on perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, and, in turn, on the intention to continuous use of mobile wallets. Moreover, this study found that perceived ease of use and subjective norms have statistically significant positive direct effects on perceived usefulness, and, in turn, on the intention of continuous use of mobile wallets. While risk does not have a significant effect on perceived usefulness, it has been found to have a statistically significant negative direct effect on perceived ease of use, and, in turn, on the intention to continuous use of mobile wallets. The findings of this study should help stakeholders to develop more effective consumer retention tactics and formulate appropriate marketing decisions.

This research was carried out in order to evaluate the benefits of date seed powder (DSP) by adding it to bakery products to enhance the nutritional value of these products and maximize the economic value of these wastes. Thus, the contents of the (DSP) were determined from the chemical composition, mineral elements, amino acids, fatty acids, phenols and flavonoids, afterthought DSP were added to the toast bread and crackers with a ratio of 5, 10 and 15 % as substitute of the wheat flour and then the organoleptic properties of these products were evaluated. The findings of these investigations revealed that the (DSP) contains important minerals, essential amino acids, unsaturated fatty acids and antioxidants, and all of these compounds have an effective effect on the health of the body. In addition, the Sensorial evaluation of toast bread and crackers were shown to be acceptable by the judges, and thus the possibility of adding DSP to bakery products.

Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) is a polymer composite material used in lightweight structures. This study provides insight into achieving robust GFRP H-section short-column spliced connections using bonded, bolted, and hybrid connections. The design specifications for steel splicing connections are based on BS EN 1990 and BS EN 1991 guidelines. Based on the samples subjected to axial loading, factors such as compressive strength, bonding and bearing resistance, compression behavior of the connection, and failure modes of the structure are investigated. The study includes the behavioral characteristics and results of 25 GFRP H-section Spliced connections, with each H-section measuring 152 x 72 x 6.4 mm and standing 350 mm in height. This study also examines the behavior of a composite splice joint made up of steel cover plates and steel bolts that are used to create an ideal non-bearing spliced connection. This model is used to compare to the other models to understand the behavior of spliced joints designed with GFRP cover plates. This paper holds design specifications of connections that have displayed compressive strengths of 82.35 %, 89.82 %, and 92.83 % compared to that of an un-cut GFRP H-section subjected to axial loading.

A series of furan derivatives tebufenozide analogues comprising five compounds (2, 3, 4, 5, and 6) have been designed and synthesized via reaction of N'-phenylfuran-2-carbohydrazide (1) with different acid chlorides. The structures of the synthesized compounds were identified by elemental analyses and spectroscopic data. The analogues compounds have the active center of tebufenozide (mimic) with change of tertiary butylhydrazine by phenylhydrazine. Studying the effect of this change on the toxicological activity against Spodoptera littoralis larvae was performed for three compounds of the synthesized ones. Toxicological activity data showed that compound (3) is more active than compounds (2) and (5)

The study provides the forecasts of expected returns based on cross-sectional estimates from the Fama-Macbeth regressions in the United Kingdom. We collected the data of listed firms on the London Stock Exchange on the DataStream from January 1980 to December 2020. We analyze the data sample by employing three cross-sectional models' ten-year rolling estimates of Fama-Macbeth slopes. The empirical findings demonstrate that an investor can derive a composite estimate of the expected return by integrating various company-specific variables in real-time. Model 1 indicates that the expected-return estimates have a predictive slope for future monthly returns of 95.07%, with a standard error of 0.1981. Moreover, model 2 and model 3 report the predictability of returns are 77.57% and 76.94%. In short, our empirical evidence suggests that investors and stakeholders may consider using model 1 to estimate the cost of equity due to its simplicity and effective prediction capability. Our findings are consistent with trade-off theory and prior literature.

The present work investigates Rotary Friction Welding (RFW) of AA2024 similar joints, where the welding operations were carried out using an adapted device to a column-drilling machine (SUPEMEC J320). This work aims to determine the optimal RFW parameters from an experimental study based on mechanical tests and microscopic observations of weld joints. The best compromise, which offers the highest tensile strength value (499 MPa) corresponds to the joint obtained by using a rotational speed of 2000 rpm, a friction pressure of 12 MPa, and a forging pressure of 17 MPa. The EDX results indicate the presence of the intermetallic compounds (IMCs) in each zone of the weld joints, with varying sizes and a random distribution. This study focuses also on the microscopic analyses of the interface of weld joints and the fracture surfaces that indicates a dominant ductile fracture mode.
