In the present paper, the theory of generalized photo-thermoelasticity under fractional order derivative was used to study the coupled of thermal, plasma, and elastic waves on unbounded semiconductor medium with a cylindrical hole during the photo-thermoelastic process. The bounding surface of the cavity was traction free and loaded thermally by exponentially decaying pulse boundary heat flux. The medium was considered to be a semiconductor medium homogeneous, and isotropic. In addition, the elastic and thermal properties were considered without neglecting the coupling between the waves due to thermal, plasma and elastic conditions. Laplace transform techniques were used to obtain the exact solution of the problem in the transformed domain by the eigenvalue approach and the inversion of Laplace transforms were carried out numerically. The results were displayed graphically to estimate the effect of the thermal relaxation time and the fractional order parameters on the plasma, thermal and elastic waves.

An in-house finite element code was utilized to evaluate mode I/II stress intensity factor (SIF) of an edge cracked semi-circular disc subjected to three-point bending. The specimen was considered as an isotropic and homogeneous material. Relative span length ratios of 0.3 to 0.8 in steps of 0.1 were invoked. Relative crack length ratios of 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5 and 0.6 were analyzed with crack angles up to 60° in steps of 5°. At the same crack length, mode I SIF decreases with increasing crack angle or decreasing the span length. The range of pure mode II decreases with increasing the span length. For the same crack length, the crack angle corresponding to the transition from a mixed mode I/II to a pure mode II increases with increasing the relative span length ratio. On the contrary, that angle decreases with increasing the crack length for the same span length. Good agreement has been generally obtained with relevant results found in the literature.

Mixed mode I/II stress intensity factors of an edge slant-cracked plate under tensile loading were assessed. A two-dimensional finite element analysis was employed using ABAQUS. Various crack lengths and angles were analyzed. The effect of the crack location at the plate edge was also examined. Crack initiation angles were calculated. In general, modes I and II stress intensity factor increase with increasing crack length. However, the rate of increase in mode I SIF decreases with increasing the main crack angle. The results showed that stress intensity factors decreased ad the crack mouth approaches the edge mid line. The crack location becomes more significant as the crack length increases. The angle of first cracking depends on crack length, location, and angle.

Although there is a significant influence of implementing the electronic health records (EHR) system in Qatar, there are very limited studies reviewed and analyzed the influence of implementing the EHR system on healthcare professionals in Qatar. This research aims to assess, summarize, and analyze the influence of the EHR system in healthcare settings in Qatar. The outcome of assessing the implementation of the EHR system may have advantages and disadvantages, which can impact healthcare professionals in healthcare settings in Qatar. The main objective is to evaluate EHR on healthcare professionals in healthcare. A total number of 210 participants were selected randomly from three private hospitals in Qatar. A validated survey distributed to physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and dietitians who work in these healthcare hospitals in Qatar. The purpose is to identify whether the outcome of using the EHR system improved healthcare professionals’ work after it has shifted from using files and hand-writing paperwork to the EHR system. By applying online survey, results indicate that most healthcare professionals positively perceive the use of the EHR system as a valuable system.

Glacial acetic acid as a protic acid was employed as a catalyst in a solvent free condition for facile preparation of di(indolyl)methanes (DIMs) via one-pot condensation of indole with aryl or heteroaryl aldehydes. Various aryl and heteroaryl aldehydes were efficiently converted to the corresponding di(indolyl)methanes (1a-p) in high yields. The described novel synthetic method proposes several advantages of safety, mild condition, short reaction times, high yields, simplicity and the inexpensively glacial acetic acid compared to other catalysts.

Mode I and mode II stress intensity factors (SIFs) through the thickness of edge crack in semi circular bend (SCB) and center cracked circular disc (CCCD) specimens have been analyzed using three dimensional finite element analysis. The effect of the CCCD and SCB specimen thickness on the through-thickness variations of SIFs has been studied. For all mode of mixity, the peak value of mode I SIF is found at mid plane of SCB specimen and for thin CCCD specimen, while, this location is shifted to be near the free surface plane in thick CCCD specimen. The variation of mode II SIF in CCCD and SCB specimens have a similar trend.
