This study investigates the influences of job demands, work exhaustion, and job satisfaction on turnover intention among Vietnamese civil service employees. Additionally, the correlation between social support and job motivation with job satisfaction and turnover intention are also examined. A structural equation modeling technique was employed to conduct the data analysis with a survey of 318 civil service employees working in 10 different departments in the public sector. The results reveal that job demands had a positive association with both work exhaustion and turnover intention. In contrast, work exhaustion and job satisfaction are both significantly related to turnover intention. Surprisingly, the adverse effects of social support and job motivation on work exhaustion are insignificant. In addition to theoretical high-lights, our study provides practical implications and managerial recommendations for government agencies in the public sector to minimize the turnover rate and retain their employees.

This article concentrates on extending a theoretical framework by exploring employees’ willingness to report unethical issues under the effects of ethical leadership, public service motivation, peer relationship, affective commitment, and fairness. By using structural equation modeling to analyze data collection from 320 public servants in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, the results demonstrate that all the mentioned factors are positively correlated with willingness to report unethical issues in the context of the public sector, except for public service motivation. The findings open a potential path for future investigation of affective commitment and fairness as mediators that help to stimulate the behavioral reports of misconduct at workplaces. The new findings expand the literature in the public sector and suggest possible solutions to promote an energetically ethical environment.

The recognition of brand equity has been in a substantial amount of recent research. In this study, we investigated the indicators of brand equity, which include brand image, brand awareness, and brand loyalty, in the context of higher education in analyzing the students of 10 universities in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. We collected a sample size of 340 people to conduct a path analysis using a Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. The results proved a significant relationship between brand awareness and brand loyalty and brand equity. We also verified the relationships between brand communication, brand trust, and brand image. These findings provide an example of one such implication, such as what universities should emphasize in their marketing efforts.

Local governments play a key role in attracting foreign investment and the operations of multinational corporations (MNCs) in Vietnam, yet limited research has focused on the emerging issues in this context. This study adopted a mixed-methods approach. Representatives of MNCs in Ho Chi Minh City and four provinces participated in this research. Partial least squares structural equation modelling was used to analyze the data and test the model. The results reveal both direct and indirect relationships between political ties, institutional support, opportunity recognition and firm performance. Recommendations for the local governments are discussed in detail.

This study examines the effects of entrepreneurial orientation, social media, and managerial ties on the business performance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam. In addition, the mediating effects of social media and managerial ties on the causal relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and firm performance is investigated. A total of 180 senior managers of SMEs were collected for data analysis by using partial least squares structural equation modeling. The results reveal that entrepreneurial orientation strongly enhances social media and managerial ties, which are determinants of business performance. Specifically, entrepreneurial orientation has no direct impact on firm performance; but the mediating effects were confirmed. Based on the results, our study highlights some theoretical contributions and suggests practical implications for practitioners in Vietnamese SMEs to improve firm performance effectively and efficiently.
